Prince William plans to participate in the United Nations climate conference in Brazil in the coming weeks, according to the royal household.

Prince William and King Charles made a joint appearance on Thursday night at a reception preceding the climate summit, which is planned for in the northern Brazilian city of Belém.

The King and Prince were in attendance at the Natural History Museum reception, marking an unusual joint appearance at a climate summit preparatory event organized in partnership with the British authorities.

Climate Leadership Dedication

King Charles has been a longstanding advocate of protecting nature - and Prince William has assumed the responsibility, with his own Earthshot awards, which will be taking place in South America ahead of the climate conference.

Official representatives have portrayed Prince William's attendance at the forthcoming conference as assuming an significant responsibility in "environmental negotiations".

Previous Activities

The monarch and his heir, making a joint entrance in the royal vehicle, were greeted attendees such as conservation experts, researchers, climate change campaigners, diplomats and politicians.

This engagement involved presentations alongside President Emmanuel Macron of France and other global statesmen at the Marine Economy Conference in Monaco during the current year.

Environmental Prize Connection

The climate conference will dovetail with the William's personal climate innovation prizes, which will finish in the Brazilian city the day before he participates in the COP summit on the sixth of November.
